February 20th, 2023The day when Lord Shiva demonstrated to the world that he is the most powerful god in the world is considered as Maha Shiva Rathriya.
Department of Hindu Religious Affairs, Kalutara in association with Sri Kadirvelayuda Swamy Temple celebrated the Maha Sivaratri Blessing Pujotsava on the premises of the temple on the last (18th) with great devotion. Buddhasasana, Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs Mr. Vidura Wickramanayake and other heads of institutions participated in this.Rather than looking for God in shrines, we can receive God’s blessing if God enters our hearts and removes envy, hatred, and anger and embeds humanity in our hearts. Minister Vidura Wickramanayake said while addressing the gathering that if we learn to think anew, we will resolve to build a new country for our children, a country where we can proudly say this is our country, a country where people live with God.
A lot of people including respected lords, Kurukkal, Maulavi, temple committee presidents, Hindu religious and cultural affairs director, children and parents participated in this.
