National Literary Awards 2022

The National Literary Awards Ceremony 2022 was held today at the Bandaranaike Conference Hall in Colombo under the precedence of Hon. Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. The skillful literary scholars who have dedicated themselves to the literature of our country were honored with the awards here. The new generation of literary scholars as well as the children who start works of Sinhala-Tamil prose and verse literature also won awards for their talents. Many individuals who have been involved in literary creation in various fields that selected under the supervision of the most expert panel of judges in our country have been awarded in this.

Hon. Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena was the special guest at the National Literary Awards Ceremony 2022.The Maha Sangha led by Ven. Rambukkana Siddhartha thero, a member of the panel of judges came and many literary scholars and artists including members of the panel of judges also participated in the award ceremony. Heads of the departments of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs and National Heritage Division, Heads of the other institutions related to the Ministry including the Department of Buddhist Affairs, Department of National Archives, Department of Archaeology, Central Cultural Fund, Tower Hall Theater Foundation, Gramodaya Janakala Kendraya, divisional secretaries of Colombo, Kalutara and Gampaha, secretaries of other ministries, directors and many other people also participated in the award ceremony. Minister in charge of the subject, Hon. Vidura Wickremanayake also participated in this event.
