Sri Lanka is a Sanghika land which has been purified by the touch of the Lord Buddha’s foot print on Sri Padha and offered thrice to the Maha Sangha. As in the past, there is no shortage of four categories of people who come to this country to understand this utmostly serious Dhamma.
It is our absolute duty as Buddhists to safeguard the Sri Sambuddha Sasana for the well-being in this life and life thereafter of all the living beings in the world. The approach taken by the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs for this is timely and meaningful.
Personal development determines the social progress as well as the security, productivity and existence of all that one associates with, lives and uses and this can be done by only a person who is culturally polished with a spiritual discipline.
Religion train the behavioral development required to make the most meaningful use of cultural values and cores spread in a wide range.
Updating the “website” of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs will undoubtedly help to cover the gap between information and man.
I expect this site will provide an opportunity for each other to review not only other religious policies including Buddhist philosophy but also other societies and cultures required for the individual character development.
I wish that, the website of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs being updated will be a gateway to approach for exchanging and understanding each cultures and also a forum of discussion for the whole society.
