The first day of the International Bhagavad Gita Festival was colorfully held at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre!

The opening ceremony of the International Bhagavad Gita Festival was held colorfully today (01) at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre premises with the participation of many distinguished guests.

Accordingly, Rangoli and art competitions, cultural fashion elements, Shloka singing competitions, Yagga singing, colorful cultural performances and musical concerts were also held here today, March (01),

Bhagavad Gita festival is being held annually by the Kurukshetra Development Board of Haryana, India to pay homage to Sri Bhagavad Gita and the series of religious events related to the Bhagavad Gita, the holy book of Hindus.

This time it was held colourfully in Sri Lanka by the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.

Distinguished guests including Hindu priests, Prof. Ankuran Dutta, Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre,  Hon. Vidura Wickremanayake, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Somarathna Vidanapathirana, Secretary to the ministry, additional secretaries, department directors, officials of institutions affiliated to the ministry, school children participated in this event.
