The ceremony of unveiling newly constructed stone Samadhi Buddha statue of Sri Paramananda Purana Viharaya in Kotahena was held today (01) amid the blessings of the Maha Sangha.

The ceremony was conducted aaccording to the admonitions of Mahanayaka, Anunayaka and Nayaka Theros of three sects including Ven. Thambawita Wimalawansha Thero, M.A., Deputy Sanghanayaka of Colombo Maha Disawa, Incumbent of Kotahena Sri Paramanandi Purana Maha Viharaya of Aruggoda Sri Indrasararama Maha Vihara party of Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha of Siyam Maha Nikaya, Ven. Lellagoda Seewaliwansha Thero, M.A. member of Viharadhikari Kalyani Karaka Sangha Sabha and Ven. Ittapana Dhammalankara Maha Nayaka Thero, Sahithyashuri Rajakeeya Panditha, Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayawardanepura, Mahanayaka of Kotte Sri Kalayani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha of Sri Jayawardanepura Kotte with precedence of the Hon. Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Hon. Vidura Wickremanayake, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs

Maha Sangha and a group of devotees including Yadamini Gunawardena, Member of Parliament, Ravi Karunanayake, former Member of Parliament joined this event.
