World Theatre Day’ celebration at Elphinstone Theatre…
March 27th, 2024The ‘World Theatre Day’ celebration was held today (27) at the Elphinstone Theatre in Maradana
The four children’s dramas, namely “Sihina Lantheruma”, “Lilly’s Magic World”, “Maya Pinsala” and “Kidaram”, created and produced by the students of Tower School of Drama and Performing Arts were performed here under the guidance of veteran dramatist Mr. Chamika Hathlahawaththa.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Chandrasiri Bogamuwa, the Chairman of the State Drama Advisory Counci and the former Head of the Department of Theatre and Performing Arts at the University of Kelaniya,
A group including Mrs. K.A.D.R. Nishanthi Jayasinghe, Thilak Hettiaracchhi, Additional Secretaries to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Mr. S.G.Palliyaguruge, Mr. S.G. Palitha De Silva, veteran dramatist, member of the board of trustees of Tower Hall Theatre Foundation, school teachers, school children participated in this event.
