On the occasion of the upcoming Christmas Day, the Christmas postage stamp issue program is organized jointly by the Department of Christian Religious Affairs and the Bureau of Stamps.

The Christmas postage stamp issuing program annually organized jointly by the Department of Christian Religious Affairs and the Philatelic Bureau on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas Day

The selection of art for these stamps is done by selecting best artworks from the art competitions held annually among the school children. This is organized by the Department of Christian Religious Affairs with the participation of the winners of the art competitions.

The Maha Sangha, Priests from various denominations holding various positions in many commissions including the Rev. Father, National Director of Catholic Mass Communication, the Rev. Dewagathi, Secretary of the National Christian Council of Sri Lanka and priests of other religions participated in this stamp issuance program held at cultural affairs auditorium in Setsiripaya.

Hon. Shantha Bandara, the State Minister of Mass Media  and the Secretary of the Ministry, the Secretary of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, heads of the institutions including additional secretaries, heads of the institutions including Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyarathan, officers including the director of the Department of Christian Religious Affairs also participated in this event. Also, many people including parents and the children who won in the art competitions participated in this event. The Hon. Minister Vidura Wickremanayake also participated in this event.
