Discussions to expand Tripitaka to the whole world through the internet …

A discussion related to writing the Buddha Jayanthi Pali Tripitaka in English and releasing it on the internet regarding the Tripitaka, which has been declared as a national heritage was held in the ministry between the Most Ven. Maha Sangha and Hon. Vidura Wickramanayaka, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs

The discussion was held for benefit of all the parties of lay and clergy who are interested in studying the Tripitaka locally and internationally and with the objective of spreading Buddhism throughout the world.

As the request of Maha Sangha, Hon. Vidura Wickramanayaka, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs expressed his concurrence to publish the Sambuddha Jayanthi Tripitaka book series, which has been translated into Sinhala language, in English script and release it on the internet and then print it. It was further mentioned that the advice and approval of the Most Ven. Mahanayake Theros should be obtained for that.

Hon. Vidura Wickramanayaka, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs said that in order to successfully carry out this work, 03 boards should be appointed as the Supreme Board, the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board and the approval of the cabinet should be obtained for this.
