A new program to promote archeology…
May 27th, 2024A discussion with the Western Provincial Archeology staff officers was held today (27) at the National Heritage Auditorium under the precedence of Hon. Vidura Wickremanayake, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.
Archaeological plans to be carried out in the Western Province, field problems and solutions to the problems were discussed here.
Also, attention was drawn to the problems faced by the archeological officers of the Western Province while performing their duties in the field.

Nishanthi Jayasinghe, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Mrs. Sujeewa Palliyaguru, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Prof. Thusitha Mendis, Director General of Archeology, officers of the Department of Archaeology, Western Provincial Archeology officers and others participated in this event.
