A Special Discussion Regarding the National Vesak Festival 2026
February 20th, 2026A special discussion regarding the National Vesak Festival 2026 was held on 19th in the Minister’s Office with the presence of Hon. Gamagedara Dissanayake, Deputy Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs. It has been decided to conduct this National Vesak Festival magnificently, centralizing Matara town on the 27th, 28th, and 29th of May, on a decision made by Hon. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Ven. Mugunuwala Anuruddha Thero, Registrar of the Samastha Lanka Shasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya, Ven. Nayaka Thero of Polhena Purana Viharaya, Ven. Nayaka Thero of Thihagoda Purana Viharaya and officers of the Ministry of Buddhasasana participated in this event.
